Hi,

I went to OpenNMS demo site and navigated to Home / Network Topology Maps
i.e. Maps tab. It does not show anything.

This map does not work on Internet Explorer 9. OpenNMS does show the map on
Firefox but we are only allowed to use IE on our project.

Why OpenNMS does not show Map under Network Topology Map in Internet
Explorer?
When can be done to fix this issue?
Is this a known issue?
If yes, then when OpenNMS is going to fix it and into which release?

Find attached file showing OpenNMS demo site - Home / Network Topology Maps

Please guide.

Kind Regards,
Sanjay

Why OpenNMS does not show Map under Network Topology Map in Internet
Explorer?
You need to load the Adobe SVG plugin to be able to view maps in IE, even
with IE9. This is explained on the maps
<http://www.opennms.org/wiki/UCE2011/Maps#supported_browser> documentation
page. IE9's SVG+Javascript support is not compatible with the approaches
used by the map functionality (which is nevertheless supported by every
other SVG compliant browser - Chrome, Firefox, Opera, etc.). The Adobe SVG
plugin is fine if you are running a 32-bit Windows client. However Adobe no
longer supports their SVG extension; the 64-bit version is only unsupported
beta (since 2009?) and has a number of bugs which can cause OpenNMS maps to
fail to display.

If you're running 32-bit Windows, install Adobe SVG plugin.

I think there used to be an open enhancement request for native IE9 SVG
support, but it was lower priority. Vote for it if it's important to you.

Many thanks to Paul-Andre Panon. I can see Map in IE 9 after installing Adobe
SVG Viewer Plug-in.
Your suggestion has really helped me to solve this issue. Once again thank
you.

Kind Regards,
Sanjay
