No, but it's just a bad idea. :)

OpenNMS' SNMP API supports it but I don't think that our configuration does. Probably an easy fix. You'd also have to use SNMPv3.

Hi,

I don't know if OpenNMS supports SNMP over TCP, BUT SNMP protocol engines
that do support SNMP over TCP MUST also support SNMP over UDP to be
compliant with RFC3430 (SNMP over TCP Transport Mapping
https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc3430).

So TCP support is kinda redundant because UDP MUST be supported. And
OpenNMS uses time-outs to detect a SNMP failure. Which it also must also do
with TCP if the device doesn't respond to the TCP request.
