[opennms-discuss] OpenNMS 1.10.5 issues with interface lists and resource graphs

Having an issue with OpenNMS 1.10.5, it lists nodes, collects data in it's .jrb files, and shows the snmp data for the router when you view the node information, and shows managed IP's on that node, however does not show ANY physical interfaces, and when I try to look at resource graphs there are none to view.

This installation was running fine for about 5 days, and is on a linux system with 12 cores, 16gb ram, running centos 6.3. file systems follow the opennms tuning guide as closely as we can for filesystem choices/etc.

I've set the following to debug, but nothing obvious is present .
I've restarted the opennms process, the postgres process (separately) and rebooted the machine.

I'm wondering if I should collect more data and submit a bug report before trying more drastic changes like wiping the postgres db, and starting over (importing the provisioning groups from the xml files), or downgrading to a 1.8 series opennms.

However, I'm not sure what data is best to collect -- Anyone have any suggestions?

Are the rrd's/jrd's for the node even there?
Normally they are in /opt/opennms/share/rrd/<nodeid>
Get the nodeid and then look for that nodeid subdirectory.
If they are there, are they being updated? (date time stamp of the files)
If they are not there, then no data is being collected so t-shoot data
collection/polling.
If they are there and being updated, then its usually a graphing issue so
troubleshoot the display of the graphs.

Hi,

yes, there are rrds in the /opt/opennms/share/rrd/snmp/ directory!
And yes, they are updated based from the timestamps.
What do you mean by graphing issue? I doesn't discover interfaces, I don't see those even under the Node page (Node List->Node name).

I have another question now: is there a way to force the discovery to a default behavior of assigning the Node Name based on the SNMP hostname instead of the DNS resolution?

Thanks again for all your support!
Best Regards,
