[opennms-discuss] Distributed Pollers on OpenNMS 1.3.1

We have a requirement for a client to put a management box onsite and I
starting researching and testing the idea of using the distributed
poller. I currently have a 1.3.2 test box and built a second server
yesterday with 1.3.2 installed. I found David's document- Remote
Location Monitoring
http://www.opennms.org/index.php/Remote_Location_Monitoring and had a
few questions about the poller configurations however before I get into
that, even though the document's IT exec summary mentions this as a new
feature in 1.3.2 I just want to verify this is indeed the case. If so,
will this allow me to remotely poll for service status and collect snmp
data remotely? Any additional information is appreciated.

Mike

Think of the current distributed poller as an extension of the
internal poller allowing you to poll status of services from multiple
locations. I hope to have a case study from one of our customer's
installs soon.
